A question to you and your readers. Why can you not purchase a paper book, and have rights to access it via kindle? I can understand the cost implication of the other way around, but why do you not pay for access to the content in whatever form when you buy a physical book? I often find myself wishing I had titles in both formats – digital for ease and on-demand reading, and then paper to flick back through, to sit on the shelf to remind me of an idea or reference at a later time. I don’t understand the inequality of the control of rights over the formats. I know downloading MP3 from CDs was also of grey definition, but it seems like we have truly passed the point of online or offline / and publishers and platforms should wake up to the reality and customer benefits of dual format publications. I’d happily pay a premium for paper+.
